Fairphone : the smartphone ecological and ethical

The world of consumer technology green is more alive than ever, especially with regard to the smartphone. And after the modular concept of the mobile phone（THL W300） as a Lego , comes from Holland the very interesting project of a startup : Fairphone , the smartphone ecological and ethical.

Presented at the London Design Festival , has already Fairphone 15,000 buyers to the " rate" of 325 Euros , which will receive a copy by the end of December. The smartphone is characterized both by the search for materials as recyclable as possible and easy to dispose of , and for the ideas of human sustainability that are the basis of its production.

The leitmotiv of the entire initiative , begun three years ago by the Dutch designer Bas van Abel and today finally translated into a real product , is to realize that the production of a wide- consumption device can never be 100 % eco-friendly , for nature same electronics. So Fairphone is produced by a factory in China where workers' rights are guaranteed and the salary is fair . In addition, it contains coltan - a mineral essential for the smartphone（Lenovo A760） industry , responsible for wars and real genocide in the Congo - comes from fields far certified by criminal organizations and gangs .

From the point of view of hardware features , Fairphone is a project sight unseen, that is not yet known for certain performances . From the leaked details , it seems that will host the final version available on Android market - so probably 4.3 in December , Android KitKat - and the phone will be dual SIM . Most of the external components are completely recyclable , it will be easy access to internal hardware for home repairs and also the battery is fully removable . The rendering of the first model seems to be very elegant - with alternating shades of gray - and the device seems to fit on the medium-high end of the market.
