The Kobo Arc is an Android tablet with a 7-inch, 1280x800pixel IPS LCD screen, coming from e-book and e-reader e-retailer Kobo. It's a huge upgrade from the mediocre Vox tablet, with much more up-to-date hardware, software, and a well-implemented multimedia-centric interface.Kobo Arc: Design and specifications
The Kobo Arc largely mirrors Kobo's existing e-readers in its design. Like the Kobo Glo, the Arc has a removable soft-touch plastic rear cover that's adorned with the Kobo open-book logo and cut with a pleasing quilted pattern. It's comfortable to hold, and easier to grip than a sheer glass-backed device of the same size.CHUWI V99
On specifications alone, the Kobo Arc is quite thick — it's 11.5mm from front to back — but this doesn't take into account the smooth curve of the rear cover. In our testing, we never thought "well, this is just too thick" — it's definitely thicker than an iPad mini (7.2mm) and marginally thicker than a Nexus 7 (10.45mm), but it's not even slightly a problem in the real world.
The slightly-raised, soft-touch plastic bezel that surrounds the Arc's 7-inch screen, again, is thicker than on the iPad, but slightly thinner than the Nexus 7. There's a front-facing 1.3-megapixel (720p capable) camera up top, and two front-facing stereo speakers down the bottom. A power/lock button and notification light are on the top panel, and a headphone jack and volume(Ramos W42) control are on the right (when holding the tablet in portrait).
We think the Arc's speakers are worth a special mention — all too often on smartphones and tablets, speakers face away from the viewer, meaning higher volumes are needed and audio is hard to hear. Having them forward-facing is a huge boon for video viewing, slightly less so for music, and it means that if you're not going to be using headphones, the Arc has that significant advantage over the Nexus 7 or iPad mini.
Under the hood, the Kobo Arc has a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4470 processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. It's available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage capacities. It's got a battery life rated at a full 10 hours, with over 2 weeks of claimed low-power standby. These figures are largely in line with the Nexus 4, which has a slightly less powerful, but slightly more versatile 1.3.Ghz quad-core NVidia Tegra 3 processor and 8 hours of battery life.Quad Core A31
The biggest difference in practical use is that the Kobo Arc runs a slightly modified, but still fully-functional, version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, while the Google Nexus 7 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Kobo Arc has a 4.1 Jelly Bean update in the works, but it'll perpetually be one step behind the vanilla Nexus tablet in the operating system stakes.
Kobo Arc: Performance and real-world usage
The biggest impact of Ice Cream Sandwich on the Kobo Arc is that when you're using it day-to-day, switching apps, browsing Web pages and flicking through Twitter streams, the Arc's interface feels slightly slow to respond. It occasionally stutters through an otherwise smooth scroll, or takes a second to display a menu which is otherwise instant on a Jelly Bean tablet.
This is something that will be addressed within months as the Arc's Jelly Bean update is released, but until then, this is a tablet that generally feels responsive, but is undoubtedly inferior in this regard to its closest competitor.

Dominating the PC microprocessor market for the last two decades, Intel's growth has slowed down recently on account of weakness in the global PC market. The company reported its full year 2012 earnings on January 17 with 1.2% and 15% declines in annual revenue and net income, respectively. However, Intel generated approximately $18.9 billion in cash from its operations highlighting that it is managing its operations well amid macro weakness.onda v972 quad core
At $13.5 billion, the Q4 2012 earnings were in-line with Intel's expectation. While revenue declined marginally on a y-o-y basis, gross profit was 31% lower compared to Q4 2011. Though Intel's data center group witnessed strong sequential and annual growth, a continuous decline in revenue from the PC client growth combined with increasing investment in building its technology prowess has impacted Intel's bottom-line.

Nevertheless, 2012 has been an eventful year for Intel as the company made significant progress in alternate markets with new product launches and design wins. For 2013, it has a robust pipeline of new platforms and products, which we feel will help increase Intel's competitiveness in the market. While Intel's short-term growth might suffer from the PC slowdown and a small footprint in the mobile computing market, we believe the company has strong fundamentals to support a higher valuation. After a tepid response for ultrabooks in 2011, due to their steep price, Intel introduced a $300 million fund to achieve improvements in the same. (quad core tablet 10.1)Last year, it launched its largest advertising campaign in a decade to increase the adoption of Intel powered ultrabooks. Intel claims that the growth in ultrabooks has helped the company achieve its volume goals in the first half of 2012. Intel ramped up its ultrabook designs from 20 to 140+ in the last one year. Additionally, ultrabook prices have come down since then to as low as $699, and Intel intends to further reduce the price to $599 by the year end.
However, despite Intel's efforts, Ultrabooks are estimated to account for less than 0.5% of worldwide notebook PC shipments in 2012.

In the coming months, Intel plans to introduce more than 140 core-based Ultrabooks, more than 40 of which will be touch-enabled. Aiming to combine the productivity of a PC with the convenience of a tablet, Intel intends to launch a dozen convertible Ultrabook designs. As the line between PCs(quad core tablet pc) and tablets is blurring, Intel intends to focus on developing mo re convertibles and detachable ultrabook designs in the future.
At the recently concluded CES 2013, Intel announced a low power 7-watt version of Ivy Bridge line of processors for ultrabooks. The low power line of processors will enable OEMs to have greater flexibility in designing thinner and lighter touch based ultrabook convertibles. In addition, it will also introduce its 4th generation core processor family, code-named Haswell, later this year. The processor promises to offer up to 13 hours of battery life, in turn enabling a broad new range of ultrabook convertibles, detachables and tablets.

Looking into our crystal ball, we'd say the future of computing is looking bendy. Billed as the world's first "paper tablet PC," PaperTab looks to combine the tangibility of paper with the speed and convenience of digital.ampe a10

PaperTab is the brainchild of Queen's University's Human Media Lab, Plastic Logic and Intel Labs. It's a flexible "high-resolution 10.7-inch" touchscreen display (no details on resolution) and is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor (not shown in any photos).
As we already alluded to earlier, the PaperTab is a new spin on working with multiple documents.
The key difference between the PaperTab and an iPad is that each display is essentially one app. By limiting a single app to each PaperTab, users can do things like share PDFs just by tapping two tablets together, fast-forward during a video by bending the display, and opening emails by touching two displays together.PIPO M1 tablet

Multiple PaperTabs can also be combined to create expanded displays and drag-and-drop functionality between tablets.
PaperTabs are also proximity-smart. According to Human Media Lab's website, each PaperTab knows its location relative to other PaperTabs. If a PaperTab is held, it will display a fullscreen app window. If it's placed on a table, but still within reach of the user, it'll show a thumbnail of a document. And if the PaperTab is placed outside of reaching distance, it'll only display icons.Allwinner A31
The "tablet" isn't quite wireless yet, as it looks to require power from a computer that is presumably under the desk. However, as we move towards a future of "natural computing," the PaperTab could be a concept technology that'll finally the old timers to finally join the digital revolution..

One of the big pluses of free software is the possibility for anyone to design and develop code that meets your needs. Whether you are a programmer like you are a graphic designer, there is probably someone out there who has your same problems and want to share the solutions. Something has gone through a recent project called XorgTablet. This is an Android app that turns a tablet either on a graphics tablet for use in graphic design programs like Gimp. The graphics(Sanei N10 Dual core) tablets are devices that can have quite high prices, so it can be helpful for users who already have a tablet and a capacitive stylus. It is compatible with the pressure sensitive screens. The project consists of two parts: the Android app itself, and a driver for X.org graphics system (hence the name of the app). The app displays an empty space in which we can draw, either with fingers or, preferably, with a capacitive stylus. ampe a10 quad core

The app sends all events recorded on the screen through the WiFi network to the computer. Here comes into play the second element, the driver, who interprets these gestures and passes them to the application. The creators have tried successfully with Gimp. The app is Google Play,(pipo m1 tablet pc rk3066) so you have to download it from the repository of its creators. Once installed must configure the local IP address is the computer you want to use. Once done, compile the driver touches on our machine. If you are expert users will ring all the steps, but if they are the creators have made all the necessary instructions in your blog.Keep in mind that this solution is only compatible with Linux systems, and its creator has no plans to work on a version for Windows in the future. However, to be free software, there is always the possibility that someone take that job and decided to adapt it to more systems.

Let us be the first to say it: the Google Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are two completely different tablets, and a comparison between the two is a little bizarre. But it's worth pointing out the differences between these incredibly good-value tablets, especially for those who believe that starts and ends (Sanei N10)with the screen size and price. After all, the Google Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are arguably the best and most popular Android tablets on the market right now, so which do you choose? See also What's the best tablet PC?
Truth be told, these tablets have very little in common. They're both handheld mobile devices, they're both sold by Google, and they both offer great value. Currently, they are also the only tablets on the market running the latest version of Android Jelly Bean, 4.2. That's about it - and not surprisingly so, given they are made by two different companies: the Nexus 10 by Samsung and the Nexus 7 by Asus.
Arguably, this means you could make a case not for choosing between the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, but owning both. The 10in screen of the Nexus 10 is useful for a homebound tablet, on which you can enjoy HD movies and games, while the smaller and lighter Nexus 7 is perhaps a better candidate as a travel companion, particularly given that a version is available with cellular connectivity.
If you've already decided you want a 7in tablet, but aren't sure which to buy, also check out our Nexus 7 vs Kindle Fire HD vs Barnes & Noble Nook HD review. Alternatively, if it's a 10in-screen slate you need, we've compared the best each mobile platform has to offer in our Nexus 10 vs iPad 4 vs Surface RT review. You can also read our individual reviews of the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, or scroll down the page for video reviews of these groundbreaking tablets.(ampe a10)
Google Nexus 7 vs Nexus 10: Price
Google set a new standard for tablets when it launched the Nexus 7. Costing just £159 in its most basic form, it made available to the masses a truly decent tablet computer with an affordable price tag. (Like all its Nexus devices, Google subsidises the initial cost of the Nexus 7 to encourage uptake of the Android platform and content sales at Google Play.) Even today, along with the iPad mini the Nexus 7 is the most powerful 7in tablet available, and it offers the best value at £159 with 16GB of storage. You can also buy a 32GB version for £199, or a 32GB Nexus 7 with 3G connectivity for £239.
The Nexus 10, meanwhile, is available with 16- or 32GB of internal storage, and costs £319 and £389 respectively. In the eyes of many tech spectators it, too, sets the benchmark in its respective market, with a higher-resolution screen, faster performance, and a price tag some £80 lower than the equivalent iPad 4.
The Nexus 10 is an altogether rarer beast than the Nexus 7, and if you wish to buy one you'll need to patiently watch Google Play for stock to become available. Check out our articles on the best place to buy the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 for advice.
Google Nexus 7 vs Nexus 10: Dimensions
Unsurprisingly, given the 3in difference in screen size, the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 have very different dimensions. The Nexus 7 is 120mm wide, 199mm tall, and a rather slim 10.6mm thick. It weighs a pocketable 336g.freelander price
The larger Nexus 10 tips the scales almost twice as far, at 603g, but is actually thinner than the Nexus 7 at 8.9mm. This tablet is some 264mm wide and 178mm tall, designed to be used predominantly in a landscape orientation. Although both Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 work in portrait and landscape modes, the Nexus 7 is better suited to vertical viewing such as e-reading (it works well in landscape mode when viewing movies).
It goes without saying that the Nexus 7 is also better suited than the Nexus 10 to throwing into a bag or oversized pocket as a travel companion, although both tablets are easily portable.
Google Nexus 7 vs Nexus 10: Build
Given that the Nexus 7 is built by Asus, and the Nexus 10 by Samsung, in design the Nexus 7 is not simply a smaller version of the Nexus 10. In fact, the Nexus 10 has a design not too far removed from that of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
The Nexus 10 is a premium tablet with excellent build quality. It has a Gorilla Glass protective front and a plastic casing, and a soft and grippy feel. Physical power and volume buttons are found on the top of the tablet, while ports are located on either side.
The Nexus 7, meanwhile, is a well-made slate that feels far more expensive than its low price tag would suggest. The front takes the form of a single sheet of glass, surrounded by a silver metal frame. On the rear is a dark brown textured cover with a rubbery feel, which aids grip and feels nice to the touch. Buttons and ports are kept to a minimum.
Google Nexus 7 vs Nexus 10: Screen
Let's start by stating the obvious: the Nexus 7 has a 7in screen, and the Nexus 10 not a 10in panel, but a 10.1in display. The Nexus 10 trumps the Nexus 7 with an incredible screen resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, which equates to 300 pixels per inch (ppi). This is higher even than the iPad's 'Retina'-quality 264ppi panel, within which individual pixels are indistinguishable to the human eye. The Nexus 7, by comparison, has a 1280x800 screen resolution, which works out at 216ppi. It offers very good detail levels, but is no match for the Nexus 10.
Both tablets use in-plane switching (IPS) panels, which offer excellent viewing angles, contrast and brightness. Either tablet is ideal for watching movies and playing games, but the Nexus 10 more so, given its larger and super-detailed screen.
Google Nexus 7 vs Nexus 10: Processor & performance
The differences between Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are more pronounced in terms of processor and performance. For starters, the Nexus 7 is a quad-core tablet, with a 1.3GHz nVidia Tegra 3 chip hiding inside, while the Nexus 10 is a dual-core slate, with a 1.7GHz Exynos 5 (based on the ARM Cortex-A15). Notably, the Nexus 7 packs 'just' 1GB of RAM, which the Nexus 10 doubles to 2GB. But it also has quad-core ULP GeForce graphics, whereas the Nexus 10 packs a dual-core Mali-T604 chip.
Both tablets offer very good performance within their respective markets, but the Nexus 10 is the better performer. We measured performance using Geekbench, GLBenchmark and SunSpider, and the Nexus 10 came out on top in each.
In the Geekbench speed benchmark the Nexus 7 managed 1,452 points, while in this test the Nexus 10 remains the fastest tablet to date, with 2,505 points. The larger tablet kept the lead in the GLBenchmark Egypt HD graphics test, where we recorded 27fps against the Nexus 7's 20fps, and in the SunSpider web-browsing test, where the two tablets scored 1,329- and 1,665ms respectively (lower is better in the latter test).
Google Nexus 7 vs Nexus 10: Storage
Both Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are available in 16- and 32GB capacities, with no memory-card slot for storage expansion. However, Google actively pushes the practice of using the cloud for storage and streaming, with services including Google Play Movies & TV, Google Books, Google Music, Google Magazines and more.
You can also invest in a Wi-Fi-enabled hard drive for additional storage, or take advantage of the many cloud-storage apps available in Google Play - or anywhere else on the web, for that matter, since Android isn't locked-down in the same way as rival mobile operating systems.
