On 23 May, Samsung announced the happy news that they had managed to reach 10 million units of Samsung Galaxy S4(Cables & Adapters) and now, a little later than one month from the date we receive information from Korea where they announce that they have achieved double this figure, ie, which have reached 20 million units sold in its current flagship.

The 20 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S4 correspond to actual sales throughout the world, as a report says. Apparently, J. K. Shin, the CEO of the South Korean company, have confirmed that figure to journalists, but the truth is we still have not made an official press release by the company, which is expected to see the light soon, in which also is expected to clarify the doubts and concerns raised about the potential of the Samsung Galaxy S4(samsung phone charger), the flagship of the company this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the fastest Android smartphone has been sold

The information comes from the hand of Yonhap News website, which have reported that in the market there are currently over 20 million Samsung Galaxy S4. It is certainly a great turnover, fully expect something considering that it is a pretty powerful device, which seems to be born to break records, is that when compared to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3, It took 100 days to achieve sales of 20 million. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S4(Galaxy S I9000 Cases) is the device with Android OS is fastest selling in history green android system.

But on the other hand do not forget that despite being a device that has received a great sales figures in a short period of time, in recent weeks there has been a significant drop in orders to supply the components responsible for the development of the device. Still, the Samsung Galaxy S4 shows no sign of weakness, it is seen most strongly in the market is that far down or stagnant sales, they have continued to rise gradually to achieve double the 10 million who managed to sell in their first month of life.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, version 'adventurous' Galaxy S4, and takes a while among us, so it was high time to face this smartphone resistant to dust and water to another stress test, that of his of his battery. With a rating of IP67 for resistance to penetration of solids and strangers, as well as immersion in water, the Galaxy S4 Active is unlike his brother in some subtle details will they be just as subtle differences in the duration of their respective batteries?

Like the Galaxy S4, the Active mounts a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with quad-core(Samsung Galaxy Accessories) Krait 600 300 to 1.9 gigahertz and 2600 milliampere hour battery. The is possibly the main difference - beyond povlo and water resistance, of course - is on the screen as usual while the Galaxy S4 rides a Super AMOLED screen five inches, while agreeing in the Active some respects different size as that is TFT.

Test results

The test duration and battery endurance have made gsmarena guys who have quantified the number of hours that hold the smartphone in call, browsing the Internet or playing video before it is completely depleted battery. Similarly, a study made of the same resistance, citing the hours measurement method would take the battery to run out if every day we would make a call an hour, were sailing for another 60 minutes Red finally dedicate ourselves the while playing videos.

As for the endurance of the battery talk time, 16 hours and 40 minutes of Galaxy S4 Active - 80 minutes less than the Galaxy S4(samsung galaxy s4 accessories) - are somewhat disappointing for a device designed for a user profile adventurer who, most likely, need the conversation as long as possible if you are in the woods or in the mountains, where probably sail less online or not engage in play the same number of videos in a normal situation.

With regard to the time it takes to consume battery in Galaxy S4 Active Web surfing - seven hours and 35 minutes, the difference with his brother is only 10 minutes of endurance, so that is irrelevant though that having different screens could make a priori believe otherwise.

If the differences are more noticeable on-screen battery life for video playback. While battery version dust and water resistant withstood seven hours and three minutes of the Super AMOLED screen device went until 12 hours. This result, although it can be understood by most screen brightness Active, not less striking.

Finally, the test of strength with reference to the commitment of an hour a day for each of the three actions based on the test - make calls, Internet browsing and video playback - shows the battery of Samsung Galaxy Active S4(cover case for samsung galaxy note 2) will hold a total of 57 hours until you need to go back to being plugged into the mains.

In short: while battery Samsung Galaxy S4 Active throws a good time call them normal situations, perhaps we would have expected a greater duration of the call time, to understand which will be the most needed service to the user profile that seems destined this smatphone of the South Korean firm.

The tablet of the South Korean manufacturer offers more functions. But the mini iPad still has significant advantages

Shelves by the dozens. Soon a week goes by, almost, without Samsung announced the upcoming sale of new tablets. In early June, the company announced this summer three tablets(PIPO Tablet PC) Galaxy Tab 3 of 7, 8 and 10.1 inches diagonally, running with Android. And last week, the South Korean manufacturer introduces two new running Windows 8, top models, including a convertible tablet with under the screen, a physical keyboard - both will be available in mid-August.

Let us already what could be the hit of 2013 for Samsung tablet Galaxy Note 8.0. Presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, where she had made a strong impression, the tablet is a direct competitor of the Apple iPad mini(Hyundai T7S). The firm Tim Cook may tremble in one year, its share of the tablet market has collapsed from 60% to 40% in the first quarter of 2013, while that of rival South Korea progressed from 11.3 % to 17.9%, according to estimates from IDC. On the tablet market small, compare side by side the two rival devices.

First impression - iPad mini advantage

On this type of device, the weight is essential. And the Samsung tablet (331 grams) is significantly less than the iPad mini light (312 grams). It is not clear why Samsung Galaxy Note with its 8.0 plastic edges around the screen twice as thick as the iPad mini. The back of the device, slightly rounded at the camera sensor does not advocate either for the Samsung tablet, just like the plastic shell. Therefore clear advantage in this area, the Apple panel.

The screen - benefit Galaxy Note 8.0

In terms of screen size, the two are very close, the mini iPad (7.9 inches) is slightly smaller than its rival (8 inches or 20.3 cm). The resolution of the Apple device (1024 x 768 pixels) is below that of Samsung (1280 x 800), which gives it a higher number of pixels per inch (189 against 163). So advantage for Samsung, since Apple does not yet have a mini iPad - first generation - the screen says "Retina" iPad of its "classic", which is in its fourth generation. In terms of brightness, the Galaxy Tab 8.0 is far ahead with a score of 445 cd/m2, against 330 for the iPad mini.

Tablets and touch-screen notebooks will give a helping hand to the PC (Ramos W21 Quad Core)industry in the coming years, according to NPD DisplaySearch.

Shipments of mobile PCs are forecast to reach 762.7 million globally by 2017, up from 367.6 million last year, according to an NPD report released Monday. Most of that growth will come about as tablets replace traditional notebooks as the dominant device and as touch screens wend their way to more notebooks.

For the purposes of its report, NPD DisplaySearch classifies a tablet as another type of PC rather than as a separate, unrelated device.

"The mobile PC industry is undergoing significant change this year," NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim said in a statement. "The rapid rise and establishment of white box tablet PCs (tablets made by small local brands, mainly in China) is putting pressure on traditional notebook PCs. These low-cost tablets(Onda v701 dual core) are reaching further into emerging regions where notebook PC penetration rates have remained low, resulting in cannibalization by tablet PCs."
Tablet shipments are projected to hit 579.4 million by 2017, up from 256.5 million this year -- a 126 percent increase. By contrast, notebook shipments are likely to drop to 183.3 million in 2017 from 203.3 million in 2013 -- a 10 percent decline. However, shipments of touch-screen notebooks will surge by 48 percent from this year to next year.

Touch screens among notebooks will be found mainly in ultraslim notebooks, otherwise known as ultrabooks, according to the report. Ultrabooks now account for around 66 percent of all touch-enabled notebooks. But that number will shoot up to 80 percent by 2017. Intel, for example, has stated that any ultrabook powered by its new Haswell processor must include a touch screen.PIPO Tablet PC

Microsoft has geared Windows 8 toward touch-screen devices as well as traditional PCs. But the latest version of Windows won't play a big role in convincing consumers to go touch screen, says NPD DisplaySearch. Rather, touch-screen demand will be driven by lower price tags and different types of devices, including hybrids, convertibles, and sliders.

"Thus far, Windows 8 has had a limited impact on driving touch adoption in notebook PCs, due to a lack of applications needing touch and the high cost of touch on notebook PCs," Shim said. "Form factors aimed at differentiation from standard clamshell notebooks will help to drive consumer adoption of touch-enabled notebook PCs, starting in the second half of 2013."

The competition in tablet market is becoming intense. Here is a short Acer Iconia A1 vs Google Nexus 7 vs iPad Mini specs comparison(ICOO D50)

The midsize Android tablet market is getting yet another low-cost device. It is from the Taiwanese PC maker Acer this time. Following HP, Asus and Samsung's recent members to the lineup, what comes up is Acer's Iconia A1, an inexpensive Android slate with a pack of decent specs. However, apart from the low price factor, there is no unique selling point with this Acer machine. With a price of $169, it is priced as much as HP Slate 7, Lenovo IdeaTab A6000 and Amazon Kindle Fire.

Acer Iconia A1 tablet sports a 7.9-inch display as equal to iPad Mini. But like Nexus 7, it draws juice from a quad core CPU, which is missing on a series of Nexus 7 rivals like the Asus Fonepad and Samsung's brand new Galaxy Tab 3 (PIPO U1Pro tablet)(7.0). The still unspecified processor of the Acer tablet is to offer a clock speed of 1.2GHz, which is more than enough for a midsize tablet. Digging more into its innards, you can see 1GB RAM and either 8GB or 16GB of internal memory.

"It may be a direct competitor to the Nexus 7, but the A1 feels for all the world like the iPad mini," says The Verge. Well, it is a sensible comment because along with placing it a key rival to Nexus 7, Acer has taken a deliberate move to plant it as an indirect rival to iPad Mini, which hasn't made any big impact in midsize tablet market, though. It has the same 7.9-inch 1024 x 768 screen, same 4:3 aspect ratio and a similar feel. Maybe, it can be called as a cheap iPad Mini, which comes for over $300.

"It's relatively light and thin, and impressively responsive for such an inexpensive tablet," The Verge further adds. Acer is known for its craft in building low price gadgets with the shine of premium devices. Other key attributes of the new Acer tablet include a built-in 3G connectivity in addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0,(Ampe A78) a 5MP rear camera for 1080p video recording and 0.3MP front camera for video chatting. It is announced to run the most recent Android Jelly Bean 4.2 out of the box.

For expanding memory from the built-in capacities of 8GB or 16GB, it has microSD slot. HDMI port, gyroscope and GPS are also included into the pack as part of making the device further user-friendly and powerful. Going through its specs, we can say with surety that the Iconia A1 can outshine many of its rivals even including the Nexus 7, thanks to its large screen advantage. By the time, except for some attractive specs, the tab can also provide an awesome experience with a pair of gesture controls.

Those gesture controls perfectly fit with Acer's 'Touch' theme. If you press five fingers onto the device screen while it is switched off, it will wake up and automatically open an app you prefer. Another tap using your thumbs on the screen will open it and launch yet another app. But, according to The Verge team that went hands-on with the tablet, the touch gestures took a few seconds to start the purported actions.

The $169 price tag is quite amazing. That price is brilliant for a device that mounts a quad core CPU and a 7.9-inch display. Nexus 7 starts at $199, making it slightly expensive to the equally powerful Iconia A1. By the way, there is a talk that Google is working with Asus to get going its plan to release a second upgrade to Nexus 7, which will likely come with a slightly bigger display in order to put it as a direct rival to iPad Mini. In brief, Acer Iconia A1 is a strong rival to both iPad Mini and Nexus 7 alike.

Android tablets have overtaken Apple's iPad to take the majority of tablet market share.

Tablets powered by Google's Android OS were more popular than Apple's iPad and iPad mini during the first quarter of the year. According to IDC's(SANEI N10 A31) latest stats, Android made up 56.5 percent compared to 39.6 percent of iOS. See also Group test: what's the best cheap tablet PC?

This time last year, iOS had a 58.1 percent share compared to Android's 39.4 percent. Both have grown but Google's much more at a whopping 247.5 percent.

IDC said: "Tablet shipments totalled 49.2 million units in 1Q13, surpassing that of the entire first half of 2012. With growth fuelled by increased market demand for smaller screen devices, tablets have shown no sign of slowing down."

Overall growth of the tablet market was 142.4 percent compared with the first quarter of 2012. The news comes after BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins, predicted tablets would be dead in five years' time.

"In five years I don't think there'll be a reason to have a tablet anymore. Maybe a big screen in your workspace, but not a tablet as such. Tablets themselves are not a good business model." said Heins.

Apple remains the top vendor, however, with a total of 19.5 million units shipped during the quarter, higher than IDC's estimate of 18.7 million.

"Sustained demand for the iPad mini and increasingly strong commercial shipments led to a better-than expected first quarter for Apple," said Tom Mainelli, a Research Director at IDC.

Samsung took second place with 8.8 million units shipped. IDC said the Korean giant's smartphone growth has helped its tablet business, often bundling the two together. Asus took third place from Amazon thanks to sustained demand for the Google Nexus 7.(FreeLander PD80 A31)

Microsoft took fifth spot with the launch of its Surface tablets. The software giant shipped 900,000 units, most of which were Surface Pro which has only been available in the US and Canada. The tablet will launch in the UK and other countries this month.

"Beyond the Surface products, Windows 8 and Windows RT tablets continued to struggle to gain traction in the market. Total combined Windows 8 and Windows RT shipments across all vendors reached 1.8 million units." added IDC.

There are rumours that Microsoft will launch a smaller 7in version of Surface but IDC thinks this won't be the firm's saving grace.(Ampe A78 dual core) "Clearly the market is moving toward smart 7-8 inch devices, but Microsoft's larger challenges centre around consumer messaging and lower cost competition." said Ryan Reith, Program Manager for IDC's Mobility Tracker program.

"If these challenges are addressed, along with the desired screen size variations, then we could see Microsoft make even further headway in 2013 and beyond." he added.
